3 Questions You Must Ask Interviewer

Looking for a job seems to be an overwhelming task in the current economy. Regardless of all the signs of improvement, you would not want to take any chances. We often go the interview with some fear about the questions to be asked by the interviewer. However, you need a job which would allow you to use your skills and qualifications to the fullest.

The interview is the process where employers get to know about your skills and similarly you would get to know more about the job. Just as the employer would have questions for you, it is obvious that you would have questions for him as well. However, in most cases, we do not ask the questions during the interview. You must always be prepared with your questions in advance, so that the interviewer would feel that you are actually serious about the job.

What is unique about your company?

You need to be extremely specific with this question. For an instance, if you are applying for the position of an affiliate manager, you must inquire about the different tracking technologies and the way they employ them in the company.  This would create an impression that you know what you would be doing. If you were to consider a position with the competition, such a question would help you create a scarcity or urgency in the minds of the employers.

How frequently is hiring done for this position?

Such a question is usually for an established employer. The position may perhaps be available because they either fired your predecessor or he quit. There could be two reasons for an employee to quit the firm, either the employer doesn’t get along with the employees and hence needs a replacement quite often, or perhaps the company is sinking and the employees are looking for better jobs. Try to get the contact information of the predecessor. Sometimes it’s just better to give up a job, rather than quit after a few months of unwanted stress.

What are the growth opportunities in your company?

This question would actually make you look pretty serious about your career. An employer would certainly like to hire someone who is serious about his career, as long as they have appropriate advancement opportunities in the company. The answer to this question would help you decide whether you should accept the job offer or not.
